Verify a domain with a TXT record
Copy the record from your domain setup into the DNS provider that manages the domain.
Add the record shown in setup
- In Fenceline’s domain setup, copy the requested TXT record’s host or name and its value.
- Open the DNS settings at the provider that manages your domain’s nameservers.
- Add a record with type TXT. Enter the host and value exactly as shown in setup. Follow the provider’s format for the root domain or a subdomain.
- Save the record, then return to Fenceline and run the verification check.
A TXT verification record is different from the A or CNAME record that routes website traffic. Complete each record requested by your setup.
Match each field
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | TXT |
| Host or name | The exact name shown in setup. Some providers append your domain automatically; avoid entering it twice. |
| Value or content | The complete verification value shown in setup. Keep its punctuation and spacing intact. |
| TTL | Use the provider’s default unless setup gives a specific value. |
If verification is pending
Confirm that you edited the active DNS provider, used the requested record name, and copied the full value. DNS changes can take time to become visible. Keep the verification record in place while the check runs.
For provider-specific steps, use your DNS provider’s documentation. If the problem continues, contact support@fenceline.ai with the domain and the status shown in setup.
