Materials Guide
Learn how to manage your materials catalog and set up pricing for estimates.
Your Materials Catalog
Your materials catalog contains all the fence types, materials, and products you offer. The prices you set here are used when creating estimates.
Material Categories
Materials are organized by type: fence panels, posts, gates, hardware, etc.
Pricing
Set your cost and selling price for each material.
Adding Materials
To add a new material to your catalog:
- 1 Go to Dashboard → Materials
- 2 Click "Add Material"
- 3 Fill in the material name, description, and category
- 4 Set your cost price and selling price
- 5 Save the material
Setting Prices
Each material has two price fields:
Cost Price
Your actual cost for the material. This is private and not shown to customers.
Selling Price
The price you charge customers. This is what appears on estimates.
Your markup (the difference between cost and selling price) determines your profit margin.
Editing & Archiving
Edit Materials
Click on any material to edit its name, description, or pricing. Changes take effect immediately for new estimates.
Archive Materials
If you no longer offer a material, archive it to hide it from the estimator. Archived materials can be restored later.
